About The Position

The Process Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for driving quality performance across manufacturing processes and finished products. This role focuses on defect analysis, process control, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to improve yield, reduce cost, and enhance product quality. The PQE will lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, drive key quality performance indicators, initiate continuous improvement projects, analyze defect trends using statistical tools, ensure compliance with quality standards, support quality-related systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop inspection methods, and participate in audits. A strong presence on the production floor is required to monitor process quality and drive real-time improvements. The role also involves travel within the United States to support projects, manufacturing sites, warehouses, and conduct on-site quality audits at third-party contract manufacturers or partners.

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in quality or manufacturing engineering.

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
  • Proficient in statistical tools (SPC, MSA preferred).
  • Experience with SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and QMS systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and auditing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for quality issues, including production abnormalities and customer complaints (e.g., 8D, 5-Why).
  • Drive key quality performance indicators, including production yield, OBA DPPM, CTM performance, and other metrics assigned by the supervisor.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze defect trends and process variation using statistical tools (SPC, MSA) and implement effective control plans.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with quality standards and procedures; monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support and manage quality-related systems and projects (e.g., GQMS, QMS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Warehouse, SQE, etc.) to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Develop and optimize inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality control plans.
  • Participate in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) and support audit readiness.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to monitor process quality and drive real-time improvements.
  • Willingness to travel within the United States to support projects, manufacturing sites, warehouses, and third-party contract manufacturers as required.
  • Conduct on-site quality audits at third-party contract manufacturers or partners (e.g., process audits, product audits) and drive corrective actions to closure.
