About The Position

The Process Project Engineer supports MBA Energy & Industrial’s Process Division by assisting Project Managers and Superintendents in the planning, coordination, and execution of oil & gas and industrial projects. This position plays a critical role in managing project documentation, procurement, scheduling, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, organization, and initiative in driving project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline).
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting industrial or oil & gas construction projects.
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices, particularly in oil & gas or industrial projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, self-motivated approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with document control systems, submittal tracking, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar technical drawing and markup tools.
  • Understanding of P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination, tracking, and documentation.
  • Procure and coordinate project materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Analyze and acquire subcontractor proposals and material quotes to support bid and execution phases.
  • Process and track submittals, schedules, RFI responses, and project correspondence.
  • Review and negotiate proposal pricing from subcontractors and material vendors.
  • Clarify subcontractor scope of work and assist with cost estimate preparation.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain weekly project reports, photos, and progress documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate project progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Review design drawings and coordinate with the design team for constructability and compliance.
  • Support project meetings, take detailed notes, and distribute meeting minutes to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update project logs, document control systems, and submittal registers.
  • Assist in general contract and subcontract administration, including change orders and cost reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new vendors and suppliers for project needs.
