About The Position

Agri-Mark/McCadam/Cabot Creamery has a rich history spanning over 100 years, built on the values of farmers, family, mission, purpose, sustainability, respect, integrity, work ethic, teamwork, and pride in award-winning products and agriculture. Cabot Creamery, a certified B Corp since 2012, is seeking a regular, full-time Machine Operator for its Butter Churn operation on 3rd shift (11pm-7am). The operator will be responsible for effectively and efficiently operating the butter churn to meet production requirements, understanding the churning process and related equipment, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role also involves maintaining churn facilities in a sanitary manner, including Clean in Place (CIP) washing of equipment and cleaning of the surrounding environment. Schedule flexibility, willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotate shifts as required is essential, with mandatory overtime, weekend, and holiday work, as well as shift rotation at times.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma, GED or HiSET.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to read and understand instructions and manuals.

  • Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Experience with manufacturing safety requirements, lock-out/tag-out.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the butter churn effectively and efficiently to meet production requirements.
  • Understand the process of churning butter and all related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal government regulations.
  • Maintain churn facilities in a sanitary manner, including Clean in Place (CIP) washing of equipment, and cleaning of walls, floors, ceilings, light fixtures, drains and other similar environmental areas.
