About The Position

Universal Rail Solutions is seeking a Process Operator to support day-to-day operations at their facility. This role is for someone who is safety-focused, mechanically skilled, enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to reliable, efficient plant operations. The company's mission is to keep Canada's railway operators moving safely and sustainably.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to plant alarms
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical capability to perform all job tasks
  • Competence in the use and care of tools and equipment related to plant operations
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation trades
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant performance from the field and communicate with the Lead Hand to meet daily operational and loading requirements
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance activities throughout the plant
  • Support railcar loading and switching activities
  • Operate material handling systems and assist with Devco Wet Prilling
  • Work with liquid sulphur degassing and H₂S scrubbing systems
  • Assist with truck offloading
  • Operate equipment including frontend loaders, skid steers, and RCM units
  • Perform caretaking and minor maintenance tasks as needed
  • Respond to plant alarms and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as required
