This position is for a contractor to be hired through a third party. There is no guarantee of a full-time offer from Braskem, but if an opportunity becomes available, you will be considered. The Wash/Load operator is responsible for inspecting all hopper cars. This entails a visual inspection of the interior lining, physically rotating all outlet valves, and other checks to assess the railcar's roadworthiness. It is of utmost importance that all railcars are properly cleaned before loading the car for the customer. The duties associated with loading the finished product include, but are not limited to, tare weighing, operating loading slingers, monitoring silo levels and product type, sampling, and gross weighing. In order to maintain the rail yard, the operator must be proficient in the safe operation of the company's track mobile and engine. The operator also controls the segregation of all cars (dirty, clean, full, reject, etc.) and completes the Daily Activity Report. The operator is responsible for the safe startup, operation, and shutdown of various pumps and compressors as plant needs dictate. Operator has the responsibility for the cleanliness of the wash/load building, due to the large volume of pellets handled by the operator. Operator is responsible for the safe operation of associate process and equipment. The operator must be knowledgeable of the chemical hazards, along with the possible dangers associated with railcar loading and moving. The operator must be aware of potential problems that may lead to an unsafe work area. Operator must be able to troubleshoot process with a high degree of accuracy. Due to the complexity of the process, the operator must possess all the knowledge of all the logic associated with it. Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting process equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and track mobiles. The operator must be able to train others to maintain the safe operation of said areas efficiently.
