The Process Operator I is a frontline manufacturing role in the Mechanical Seals department, responsible for support functions and direct production work. The operator runs equipment, uses hand and power tools, monitors critical operations, recognizes and reports operational variations, and corrects them when possible. The role may also include moving materials throughout the facility or work cell and completing transactions in the Business Management System (BMS), including material issues, scrap, manufacturing-order closures, labor reporting, and material transfers. The operator works from assigned work orders and manufacturing instructions to perform sub-assembly, lapping, polishing, sealing, pressure-testing, deburring, part identification, and material-handling tasks. The position is onsite for scheduled shifts and is subject to an on-call policy, which may require availability outside scheduled hours. The work takes place on a manufacturing shop floor with daily exposure to high noise and temperature levels, and requires the use of protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
