About The Position

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an eHW Process Methods & Tools (PMT) Intern in our Summer Internship Program. The eHW Process Methods & Tools (PMT) Intern will support the Electronics Hardware (eHW) and Innovation Engineering organization by assisting with process improvement initiatives, data analytics, engineering tool development, and process compliance activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering development processes, ASPICE-based process methods, performance metrics, dashboards, and digital tool solutions used to support hardware development programs. The intern will collaborate with engineers, process specialists, and IT teams to improve operational efficiency, process effectiveness, and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, SharePoint, Jira, or similar data analytics and reporting tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel including data analytics tools
  • Interest in engineering processes, quality systems, engineering lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing engineering processes and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and standardization.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources to support process performance monitoring and business decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, visualizations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that communicate process and project performance.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of quality and process metrics used to assess effectiveness, adoption, and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and enhancement of engineering tool chains and reporting solutions.
  • Support tool configuration, implementation, and alignment with hardware engineering process requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and IT stakeholders to evaluate and improve digital solutions that support product development activities.
  • Assist in documenting processes, creating training materials, and supporting knowledge transfer activities for engineering teams.
  • Analyze trends and lessons learned from project and process data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support management reporting by presenting data-driven insights through dashboards, summaries, and visual analytics.
