About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in water and wastewater general contracting. They are seeking a Mechanical/Process Equipment Installer to join their Arizona Division in the Phoenix metro area. This role involves installing various mechanical piping and equipment on water and wastewater projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least Five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions.
  • Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work.
  • Ability to navigate and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling.
  • Knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections, PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP.
  • Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications.
  • Lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping, and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps.
  • Monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in monitoring project labor.
  • Understand the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring.
  • Perform crane rigging and signaling.
  • Identify and work with different types of process piping materials and connections, including PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Perform any other assigned duties.
