  • Experience fostering a collaborative culture across diverse teams (Product Development, Plant Operations, and Suppliers) to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Proven track record of supporting or leading New Model Launches within a plant environment.
  • Experience with Robotics, Vision Systems, and PLC-controlled automation within high-volume assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret data collection, control charts, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong working knowledge of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly to various levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the development of production tooling and facility layouts optimized for specific product requirements and manufacturing processes.
  • Author and maintain comprehensive assembly process instructions that guarantee adherence to quality standards and cycle time targets.
  • Integrate Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, eliminate waste, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with external partners (Machine Builders, Vision System Integrators, and Robotics vendors) to implement advanced automation and process control solutions.
  • Deliver cycle line layouts and workstation designs, ensuring equipment and operators are fully prepared for launch.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assembly tooling, including specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final site sign-off.
  • Lead virtual manufacturing assembly builds to identify and mitigate production risks prior to physical implementation.
  • Orchestrate new model launches, providing on-site plant support to ensure a seamless transition from design to full-scale production.
  • Identify and resolve complex feasibility issues across Assembly, Testing, Controls, Ergonomics, and Safety.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including Purchasing, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L)—to align program goals.
  • Analyze component data to ensure all parts are dimensionally in-spec and understand the systemic impact of tolerances on final assembly.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing quality, reducing costs, and optimizing labor efficiency.
  • Communicate project status and technical roadblocks effectively through formal management presentations and data-driven reporting.
