About The Position

Join Intel Foundry's world-class manufacturing team as a Process Integration and Yield Technician - Metrology, where you'll play a hands-on role in producing the cutting-edge semiconductor devices that power the AI era and improve lives around the globe. With a focus on defect identification, failure analysis, and process optimization, you will help uncover root causes of yield loss and collaborate with a diverse team to implement solutions that improve production performance. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly support Intel's mission to advance innovation and deliver high-performance computing solutions. This position requires regular onsite presence at our Hillsboro, Oregon facility.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess an Associate’s Degree or higher in a STEM related field OR a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: Military background in electronic, avionic, or mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance, Electronic systems operation and understanding, Troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and/or repair of faulty electronic equipment down to the component level, STEM-related work experience in a scientific, analytical, or laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work night shifts and maintain consistent attendance in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong aptitude for detail-oriented work and the ability to maintain focus during repetitive or monotonous tasks.
  • Strong ability to execute disciplined processes and perform critical problem-solving tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and support problem resolution in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with standard PC tools, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as basic computer and networking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a semiconductor-related STEM discipline
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing workflows, quality assurance principles, inline metrology tools and statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in training or mentoring peers to strengthen team capacity.
  • Previous experience in a mask or wafer manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Support semiconductor manufacturing operations by monitoring tool and process performance, identifying defects, and assisting with yield-related investigations.
  • Classify defects and evaluate test or inspection results to support disposition decisions and root-cause investigation.
  • Review process data and follow up on out-of-specification (OOS) conditions and other nonstandard events to help maintain process stability.
  • Operate and support semiconductor process and inspection equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and document data to support process control, defect reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with troubleshooting process issues, escalating concerns appropriately, and supporting resolution of nonstandard events.
  • Support process setup, verification, and execution of assigned tasks to ensure readiness and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to communicate findings and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality records in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to a disciplined, safety-focused, and quality-driven manufacturing environment.
