About The Position

As a Process Integration and Yield Engineering Intern, you will help advance semiconductor manufacturing by analyzing defect data, conducting experiments, and refining process integration flows. You will support yield improvement initiatives and collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges, optimize metrology strategies, and enhance processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The role is part of Intel Foundry, which develops and optimizes semiconductor manufacturing processes to enable advanced technologies and support efficiency, quality, and scalability in production.

Requirements

Must be actively pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
Proficiency in microscopy techniques.
Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and circuit design.
Basic scripting skills in Python or comparable programming languages.

Nice To Haves

Be a second- or third-year Ph.D. student with coursework in semiconductor physics, electronics, or solid-state physics.
Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, microscopy techniques, or engineering analysis tools.
Knowledge of data analysis platforms such as JMP, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
Familiarity with image analysis software and visual computing systems.
GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

Perform defect analysis to identify trends and recommend process adjustments.
Conduct experiments to evaluate and optimize process integration flows.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot process issues and refine metrology strategies.
Support yield improvement initiatives through risk assessments and data-driven recommendations.
