Process Improvement Specialist Fellowship

LOVE JUSTICE INTERNATIONAL,
Onsite

About The Position

Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to combating human trafficking by disrupting it in transit. They operate as an 'Impact Engineering' organization, using scientific and business principles combined with local insights to intercept potential trafficking victims efficiently. This fellowship is a one-year, full-time role based at Program HQ in South Africa, reporting to the Chief of Staff. The fellow will act as an internal consultant, partnering with Leads across the organization to identify, simplify, standardize, and improve processes and documentation. The role requires a passion for making things clearer, leaner, and more effective, while building trust with those closest to the work. The fellowship is part of LJI's ongoing effort to 'essentialize' their operations, resisting unnecessary complexity and ensuring excellence and accountability in their global mission.

Requirements

  • Mature Christian faith and agreement with LJI's Global Value to 'Abide in Christ'.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and agreement with how the Christian Gospel ministers to 'the least of these' (Matthew 25:40) and guides the mission.
  • Agreement with LJI's Core Value 'Be the Kingdom' in mission execution and personal conduct.
  • Acknowledgment of LJI's Statement of Faith.
  • Passion for justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations.
  • 3+ years of experience in an operational or organizational role with demonstrated process improvement work (simplifying, standardizing, or rebuilding processes).
  • A demonstrated habit of asking 'why does this exist?' with examples of processes, documents, or systems made simpler or better.
  • Comfort delivering honest assessments diplomatically to process owners.
  • Strong relational skills; ability to earn trust with people closest to the work.
  • Excellent written communication skills; ability to produce clear and concise documentation for non-native English speakers.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort working in a small, high-accountability team where scope regularly exceeds structure.
  • Ability to work well in cross-cultural contexts.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve work (drafting, research, analysis, redesigning workflows) with discernment to verify outputs and catch errors, adhering to LJI's AI Tool Usage Policy.

  • Proactively identify where processes, documentation, or workflows have accumulated unnecessary complexity and present evidence-based cases for change to relevant Leads, supporting them through the transition.
  • Work within LJI's documentation ecosystem (including the National Field Manual and related process guides) to ensure standards are clear, current, and concise, proposing revisions in collaboration with process owners.
  • Identify high-variance processes where inconsistency impacts outcomes and partner with Leads to develop reliable standards for diverse field contexts.
  • Contribute to LJI's Core Process Improvement Audit by analyzing results, identifying patterns, and following through on improvement priorities with process owners.
  • Help LJI develop shared language and lightweight frameworks for process improvement that Leads can apply independently, embedding the discipline of essentializing within the organization.
