About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Process Improvement Intern will support the Process Improvement department

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with data and draw actionable insights
• Basic understanding of process improvement concepts (Lean, Six Sigma, BPR, PDCA, DMAIC)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Visio or similar process-mapping tools is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in: Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Operations Management Supply Chain Business Analytics Computer Science or a related field
• Coursework or exposure to: Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Statistics or Data Analysis Operations or Process Design (preferred but not required)

Nice To Haves

• Prior internship, project, or coursework related to process improvement is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement initiatives within manufacturing, operations, or business processes
• Assist in documenting current-state processes using flowcharts, process maps, and standard work
• Collect and analyze operational data (cycle time, throughput, defects, downtime, etc.)
• Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities using data and observations
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement projects
• Participate in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
• Assist with implementing and tracking process improvements and KPIs
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings and results
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain)
• Other duties as assigned by TAS
