POSITION OVERVIEW: The Process Improvement Intern will support the Process Improvement department
Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with data and draw actionable insights
Basic understanding of process improvement concepts (Lean, Six Sigma, BPR, PDCA, DMAIC)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Visio or similar process-mapping tools is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in: Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Operations Management Supply Chain Business Analytics Computer Science or a related field
Coursework or exposure to: Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Statistics or Data Analysis Operations or Process Design (preferred but not required)
Nice To Haves
Prior internship, project, or coursework related to process improvement is a plus
Responsibilities
Support process improvement initiatives within manufacturing, operations, or business processes
Assist in documenting current-state processes using flowcharts, process maps, and standard work
Collect and analyze operational data (cycle time, throughput, defects, downtime, etc.)
Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities using data and observations
Support Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement projects
Participate in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
Assist with implementing and tracking process improvements and KPIs
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings and results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain)
