About The Position

Responsible for maintaining efficiency and quality in the work setting and evaluating current business practices. Responsible for leading and facilitating all plant audits for internal and external parties, with the exception of financial audits which are led by the site controller.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Related college degree and/or appropriate technical courses or Associate’s (A.A.) degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field (TQM, SPC, ISO 9000)
  • Computer and analytical skills a must.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Capable of using, tracking, and evaluating data in tools and databases such as Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear on the manufacturing floor.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Lean and or six Sigma methods to design and implement process
  • Provide direction and oversight to project teams to design and implement solutions that meet applicable business requirements
  • Oversee plant production KPI’s (daily, monthly annually) and seek areas for improvement. Lead cross functional teams aimed at ensuring continuous improvement in productivity and success compared to budgets.
  • Measure process improvement benefits after changes are implemented. Provide effective, routine reports to the management team and to employees when agreed to by the Plant Manager and General Manager.
  • Evaluate current business practices, looking for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and make the best use of the business’s resources.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Own and support company initiatives that come from corporate leaders and operations resources.
  • Provide support and be the back-up to the corrugator and converting superintendents and the maintenance manager when called upon.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
