About The Position

Gasser Chair is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Process Engineering Technician to support the development, documentation, and improvement of manufacturing processes used to produce our custom seating products. This role bridges engineering and daily manufacturing operations. The Process Engineering Technician will conduct time studies, collect and analyze process data, develop standard work, support production trials, troubleshoot process issues, and help implement approved improvements that strengthen safety, quality, consistency, and efficiency. The Process Engineering Technician will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with production leadership, quality, maintenance, and engineering team members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving practical problems on the manufacturing floor and seeing process improvements make a real impact.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Two years of experience in manufacturing process support, continuous improvement, or an engineering technician role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, and basic measurement methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Ability to collect and analyze production data, conduct time studies, and apply basic mathematics to process and capacity calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, standard work, 5S, and root cause analysis preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software, fixture design, CNC equipment, or furniture manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Observe production operations, evaluate work methods, and support improvements to process consistency and daily performance.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, document cycle times, and support labor standards, line balancing, and capacity assessments.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, process flows, setup procedures, and visual aids that reflect approved manufacturing practices.
  • Help investigate bottlenecks, scrap, rework, downtime, and process variation; support corrective actions with engineering and production.
  • Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction, and workstation improvements that improve efficiency, quality, and material flow.
  • Assist with production trials and process validation; record results and help recommend adjustments.
  • Assist with evaluating fixtures, jigs, tooling, equipment settings, and workstation layouts in coordination with engineering and maintenance.
  • Collect measurements and production data, support investigations, and help verify corrective-action effectiveness.
  • Support manufacturing readiness for new and revised products through process planning, trial builds, and production documentation.
  • Assist with employee training on approved work methods and process changes; collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and EHS teams.
