Process Engineering Technician I
About The Position
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to support the Electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) process in our printed circuit board (PCB) factory. We are considering candidates at various experience levels. In this onsite position, you will work with an energetic team of chemical engineers and assemblers to maintain a high-quality process in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards. The ideal candidate has an engineering or technical background, demonstrates strong attention to detail, takes a disciplined approach to process control, and is motivated by continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.
Requirements
- US Citizen
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment or heavy machinery
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
- Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
- Experience working safely with chemistry in a manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or production environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to train technical and non-technical staff
- Meet background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Meet negative drug test result(s)
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate technical and troubleshooting support to manufacturing.
- Assist in measuring and improving safety, quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of the ENIG process.
- Assist in performing tests and applying problem solving exercises to identify root cause, evaluate processes, and process improvement activities of a chemical manufacturing process.
- Document, modify, and maintain manufacturing related procedures and documents.
- Train operators and support staff as needed.
- Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
