Process Engineering Technician I (weekends)
About The Position
This role provides immediate technical support to manufacturing, clarifying production process specification requirements to ensure accurate and efficient production. The technician will assist in measuring and improving the yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes. Responsibilities include documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing-related procedures, managing the procurement of assembly process tools, and training operators and support staff as needed. The position requires adherence to SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles, with an emphasis on understanding, creating, and simplifying processes. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
Nice To Haves
- Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
- Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
- Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis
- Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics
