About The Position

This internship is generally responsible for performing routine engineering tasks of less complex assignments, utilizing theoretical knowledge and practical design methods under direct supervision. The intern will become familiar with and apply engineering design and drafting standards. Key activities include assisting in producing detailed design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects. The role also involves supporting the development of conceptual process engineering designs and studies to identify the simplest and most efficient solutions to engineering problems. Additionally, the intern will assist in creating estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs, and support engineers and designers in achieving project goals related to safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree program for Chemical or Biochemical Engineering at an accredited university is required.
• GPA: 2.7 or above
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with chemical/process engineering calculations (material and energy balances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mass transfer, etc.) is beneficial for this position.
• Familiarity with chemical engineering simulation (Aspen Plus, PRO/II, ChemCad) and hydraulic analysis software (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, SiNet) is beneficial for this position.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD or Microstation (or both) is beneficial for this position.

Responsibilities
