About The Position

The Company: Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for the Spring/Summer! Candidates must be a current engineering program student. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface. The Position: Summary Under the direction of the process engineering manager and working with one or more process engineer team members, the successful intern will assist Process Engineers (PE) in developing and implementing process related technical solutions including the collection and analysis of process related data to support and drive continuous improvements projects.

Requirements

  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
  • In pursuit of an engineering degree in the industrial, electrical, or mechanical fields.
  • Basic computer skills, including proven ability to use Microsoft Word, EXCEL and Outlook.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new techniques and technologies.
  • Safely and successfully use basic hand tools as required such as scrapers, needles, razor blades, probes, etc.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • In pursuit of an engineering degree in the industrial, electrical, or mechanical field(s) at a nationally accredited university.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Safely lift 40lbs without aid.
  • Fine motor skills and strong hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating hand tools and performing precise measurements through a microscope.
  • Vision ability to have natural or corrected near distance acuity in at least one eye and capable of passing the Jaeger Number 2 test and a color vision test.
  • Able to work under microscope conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of process variable identification, separation and documentation of steps towards evaluation of process results.
  • Solidworks CAD, electrical engineering experience, and/or experience with support I/O systems.

  • Comprehend and follow all parts handling requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Read and understand blueprints and CAD models to understand conforming criteria.
  • Rework nonconforming material into conformance per defined instructions.
  • Section parts & assemblies in support of PE data collection activities.
  • Collect data and test process improvements for application.
  • Work with the PE’s in a direct support role on their individual projects.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative effort.
  • Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
