Process Engineering Intern
About The Position
As a James Hardie intern, you will gain hands-on experience in your chosen field while contributing to meaningful projects that drive business results. Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
- Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Pursuing a degree in chemical, pulp & paper, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial engineering
- Technical aptitude in engineering fundamentals
- Data analysis and basic Excel/statistical skills
- Problem‑solving in process and equipment issues

- Attention to detail in inspections and documentation

Responsibilities
- Contribute to efficient, high‑quality finishing operations in a fiber‑cement manufacturing environment while building practical engineering skills in process improvement, equipment support, and production optimization.
- Support finishing-line operations by monitoring equipment performance and identifying inefficiencies
- Assist with quality checks on surface finish, dimensions, and product defects
- Collect and analyze production data to support process‑improvement initiatives
- Help troubleshoot equipment issues alongside technicians and engineers
- Contribute to lean and 5S activities to improve workflow and reduce waste
- Update documentation and SOPs related to finishing processes and safety practices
