Process Engineering Co-op, Spring

Ingevity•Covington, KY

About The Position

Ingevity’s Engineering Co-op program gives students the opportunity to apply problem-solving and technical skills to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and productivity in manufacturing environments. Co-ops contribute to real-world, value-added projects supporting production and project engineering, while helping improve processes and troubleshoot problems. Safety and teamwork are central to the role. The program is structured around two to three rotations, averaging three to six months per term. Each term is typically separated by an academic term so students can apply engineering concepts in both academic and real-world settings. Candidates should be available for multiple terms and consult their academic advisor about program participation. This is an on-site, full-time position at Ingevity’s Covington plant. Co-ops typically work Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week, usually between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; hours may vary for occasional project assignments and will be communicated by the manager. The Spring 2027 co-op is anticipated to start in January 2027. The program offers hands-on experience in chemical and materials manufacturing, with a focus on process/project and production engineering; opportunities to solve technical challenges with a diverse team; mentorship and development with technical and industry experts; project leadership development; networking with industry leaders; and exposure to career opportunities across Ingevity’s businesses. Housing assistance is available to eligible candidates relocating more than 50 miles from their primary residence.
