About The Position

LSB is seeking a Process Engineering Co-Op to join their Corporate Manufacturing Technologies Team. This role is anticipated to start in July 2025 and end in December 2025. The co-op will work closely with Senior Process Engineers and the VP of Manufacturing Technology at the OKC corporate office, with some travel required. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives focused on innovation, operational excellence, reliability, and sustainability within the manufacturing network. The co-op will collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams on high-impact initiatives.

Requirements

  • Qualifying students must be in good standing as a junior or greater.
  • Majoring in Chemical Engineering.
  • Currently have a 3.2 GPA or higher.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Interest in manufacturing innovation, digital tools, and sustainability.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Experience or interest utilizing AI and other emerging software tools for optimization and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with process safety and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, RCA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and with data analysis tools (e.g., Aspen Hysys/Plus, Power BI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution of LSB’s digital transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in gathering and analyzing data aimed at assessing asset performance, process safety, and equipment reliability.
  • Help in developing digital tools to support health monitoring/optimization and efficient troubleshooting.
  • Support early-phase capital project work, including feasibility assessments, data analysis, and technology evaluations.
  • Prepare documentation, presentations, and technical reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
