HF Sinclair is seeking a Process Engineer for the Engineering Department. This role involves working independently and acting as a resource, potentially up to a lead position, for less experienced personnel. The Process Engineer will monitor and ensure the performance of high complexity refinery process units, investigate and resolve process-related malfunctions and anomalies, and coordinate, facilitate, and document Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). This position owns the Management of Change (MOC) process for assigned units and divisions, provides process optimization guidance to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and refinery profitability, and ensures the maintenance and integrity of business unit data. The role also involves creating and maintaining unit technical process standards, guidelines, and procedures, providing discipline-specific engineering assistance, direction, and mentoring to colleagues, and supporting technical oversight for capital project development. Additionally, the Process Engineer develops project scopes, estimates budgets, and funding requests, ensuring projects meet budget and industry standards. They will also provide economic analysis for process operations, drive cost-saving and yield improvement initiatives, research new technologies, and provide training on PHA, Incident Investigation, MOC, and Pre-start up Safety Reviews (PSSR). Participation in Process Safety related audits, LOPA reviews, and assisting in action item solution development are also key responsibilities. The role includes designing plant equipment and processes, conducting research for new and improved manufacturing processes, recommending and implementing improvements, reviewing vendor proposals, assisting with clean fuel projects, and designing plant additions and modifications. The Process Engineer will also act as a liaison between the company and various agencies.
