About The Position

The Process Engineer is a key member of the Spencer engineering and operations team, supporting process optimization, new product development, troubleshooting, cost reduction and continuous improvement within a growing manufacturing facility. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with manufacturing processes while leading high-impact projects that improve product performance, efficiency and profitability. As the Spencer facility continues to grow, the Process Engineer will have significant visibility and the opportunity to influence how processes, products and manufacturing capabilities evolve at the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, working knowledge of spreadsheets and systems required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work hands-on with processes and development of current and new product
  • Demonstrate visible leadership on the plant floor with the ability to influence colleagues and different levels in the organization required.

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XPE) experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cost reduction projects to reduce costs and improve profitability.
  • Lead WAM Early Product Management pillar and drive continuous improvement plant activities.
  • Participate in new product acceptance activities to create innovative products for the marketplace.
  • Create research and development proposals and utilize project management skills to develop purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, equipment needs and people requirements.
  • Manage key projects, processes and performance reports, and data analysis.
  • Work with the Manufacturing, Operations and Quality to review quality, process improvements and new product development.
  • Review Certificate of Analysis (COA’s) for raw material conformity and oversee data entry of that information for filing.
  • Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and keep document records up to date in database.
  • Manage all aspects of the AIMS database.
  • Assign work to R&D Lab Technician and manage performance and objectives.
  • Participate as an active member of the Spencer Management Team.
