About The Position

Moog Commercial Aircraft Group is looking for an MFG / Process Eng. This position is located at our Commercial Facility in East Aurora, NY. As an MFG / Process Eng, with Moog Aircraft Group’s Electronics Operations Engineering Team, you will be assigned direct engineering responsibility for a variety of production programs. For these production programs, you may have full design responsibility for the product. Work assignments require some originality and unreviewed action. You will receive program and technical guidance from the department supervisory personnel, project, senior product, or product engineers. As a member of the Electronics Engineering team your background will help us support production Mechanical and/or Process problems. Electronics manufacturing expertise is preferred, but anyone with experience that could be applied and motivated to work in a high-paced production environment will be considered. Your activities have a significant impact on production. It is your responsibility to inform the appropriate management and support functions of events, which may affect quality, schedule, or cost. In addition, you are expected to organize and guide the affected disciplines to address changes/problems in a manner that minimizes the impact on production. You are a focal point for resolving all questions/problems concerning the design, manufacture, assembly and test of production hardware. You will initiate changes and deviations to the design or specification requirements and are the primary contact for customers, vendors, and internal Moog personnel on all technical problems and questions. You occasionally function in the manner of a program manager, on technical problems, coordinating Moog resources for the solution of a problem and communicating timely information to the affected groups within Moog and to the customer/supplier levels.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or comparable field of technology.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge in areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis.
  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics manufacturing expertise is preferred
  • Desire to learn or have some Circuit card Experience in the following areas: PCB, CCA, plated through-hole, multi-layer boards, flexible boards, cable assemblies, Rework and repair of PCB’s.
  • General knowledge of Electronics Workmanship Standards (IPC, J-STD-001) would be preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production assembly/test instructions, training and monitoring to maintain production.
  • Evaluate, request, and implement equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Assure and maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in production products.
  • Provide process engineering support as required to other Moog departments to maintain and improve quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Provide information regarding status of technical, quality, schedule, or cost impacts to all affected operating groups.
  • Coordinate with Moog Program Management, Sales, and Purchasing to provide technical communications to customers and suppliers.
  • Organize, coordinate, and expedite Moog materiel and personnel resources for analysis and solution of production problems.
  • Prepare/conduct technical and training presentations for Moog management, employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally to work with contract manufacturers.
  • Track key company metrics including, but not limited to, first pass yield (FPY), and product cost objectives (PCAS) to maintain and improve company performance and goals. These metrics may be used to support the goals of other departments.
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) analyses ("use as is", scrap, repair) and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Participate on the Corrective Action Board (CAB) as required.
