About The Position

Responsible for driving process excellence, product quality, and operational performance within the manufacturing environment. Oversees process compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, production team leadership, and adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS), customer requirements, and safety standards. Provides leadership in process optimization, problem-solving, and operational efficiency to support customer satisfaction and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a focus on process development, quality engineering, or production supervision.
  • Experience conducting internal audits; IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 auditor certification preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred; Black Belt certification highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA & SPC.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (PDCA, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, DMAIC).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Minitab knowledge desired.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively follow up on action plans and ensure successful implementation of corrective actions.

  • Hands-on approach to working with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Research teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, oversee, and evaluate established manufacturing processes, providing weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, verification, vendor coordination, purchasing support, training, and compliance activities. (quarterly, every 6 months or yearly)
  • Serve as the primary customer quality contact, conducting regular customer meetings (weekly or bi-weekly), managing complaints, coordinating customer audits and visits, and ensuring timely resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and closure of customer and internal quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, PDCA, DMAIC).
  • Manage quarantine material disposition, RMAs creation and material receipt, PPM reporting, and nonconforming material processes to minimize quality risk and drive preventive action.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and top-offender projects focused on quality, productivity, waste reduction, variation reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct process, system, and product audits; support or lead external audits and certifications, including ISO, IATF, VDA, Kosher, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and develop new methodologies as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Create, review, and maintain quality documentation, including specifications, routings, PFMEAs, Control Plans, work instructions, and process controls.
  • Utilize statistical and quality tools, including SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and data analysis techniques, to improve process capability and product quality.
  • Develop engineering studies, technical analyses, and recommendations to support process optimization and operational objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and activities, communicating objectives, timelines, risks, and expectations while ensuring timely completion of action plans.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, vendors, and internal departments to address quality, technical, and process-related matters.
  • Provide leadership to manufacturing personnel, ensuring achievement of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement goals.
  • Identify and resolve production constraints and operational issues to support uninterrupted production and customer delivery requirements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Supervise and lead hourly production associates within a designated manufacturing area to achieve production goals.
