About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for driving process excellence, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This role involves hands-on technical leadership, structured problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance performance, safety, and product quality. The engineer will maintain a strong presence on the shop floor to assess issues, lead troubleshooting, and conduct root cause analysis of equipment and process failures. Key objectives include initiating and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime, improve yield, efficiency, and throughput, and aligning with strategic business objectives. The role also entails specifying, procuring, and commissioning new manufacturing equipment, maintaining process documentation, analyzing raw material balances, and leading process improvement projects. The engineer will act as an advocate for Lean Sigma methodologies, ensuring sustained results and process controls. Collaboration with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance teams is crucial for maintaining ISO 9000/14000 compliance. Developing and sustaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and demonstrating strong safety leadership to advance a Zero & Beyond safety culture are also key responsibilities. The role includes sharing technical expertise through training and guiding operators and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field, or any combination of education, training, and/or work experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing factory working on production processes, including hands-on troubleshooting on the shop floor, understanding equipment behavior, optimizing process parameters, supporting equipment upgrades or commissioning, and ensuring stable, repeatable operations.
  • 3 years of experience obtaining results in continuous improvement and process/manufacturing engineering using Lean Sigma methodologies and A3, PFMEA, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and the 8D problem-solving process.
  • 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year of experience in project management and making complex decisions quickly.
  • 3 years of experience of verbal and written communication with operators, executives, and customers.
  • 3 years of experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a strong and consistent presence on the shop floor to assess issues, lead hands-on troubleshooting, and drive root cause analysis of equipment and process failures.
  • Initiating and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure stable, reliable operations.
  • Improving yield, efficiency, throughput, and overall process capability in alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Specifying, procuring, and commissioning new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, including capital cost justification and related documentation.
  • Maintaining and updating performance specifications, and process documentation for all current products.
  • Analyzing monthly Raw Material Balances to identify key areas of focus and improvement.
  • Leading and managing process improvement projects that directly impact operational performance and the bottom line.
  • Identifying, prioritizing, and evaluating improvement opportunities using structured risk/reward analysis.
  • Serving as an advocate for Lean Sigma methodologies, acting as a Lean Facilitator when required to implement and sustain lean initiatives.
  • Ensuring results are achieved and that process controls and improvements are sustained over time.
  • Leading and influencing cross-functional teams at all organizational levels to drive change and operational excellence.
  • Supporting the transfer, implementation, and startup of new processes, methods, and technologies.
  • Collaborating with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with ISO 9000/14000 standards.
  • Developing, documenting, implementing, and sustaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent, safe, and reliable operations.
  • Demonstrating strong safety leadership and contributing to advancing a Zero & Beyond safety culture.
  • Sharing technical expertise by training and guiding operators and colleagues in the use of best practices, process standards, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Promoting a culture of learning, operational discipline, and technical excellence across the organization.
