Requirements

Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in mechanical/plastics engineering or related field.
Reheat blow process and automation experience
Experience with the following manufacturers of machinery: Siapi, Sidel, Cipa and 1Blow
Root cause analysis and trouble-shooting experience
Experience with setting oven profiles
Infeed and outfeed conveyor experience
Effective leadership skills, strong decision-making skills, and ability to lead and drive project teams.
Well organized, accurate and attention to detail with the ability to lead and drive project teams.
Training or experience in Lean Manufacturing practices.
Able to travel and train as need throughout the region.

Responsibilities

Assists plant leadership and works collaboratively with all other departments to maintain the flow of work in the process molding lines, ensuring customer products are being produced in accordance with required specifications and quality standards.
Analyzes process defects and finds solutions, arriving at acceptable quality level throughout the process.
Starts up new and existing equipment, checks out system for proper operation, calibrates equipment, performs loop checks, troubleshoots, and resolves system problems.
Responds to emergency work order requests, troubleshoots, and analyzes systems, investigates the nature of the problems, checks for software and hardware defects and verifies equipment for proper operation.
Directs the installation of new systems to ensure specification and safety compliance by personnel and vendors.
Defines internal quality control plan including gauging methods and frequency of inspection.
Assists production with new project set-ups, tool changes and program adjustments.
Troubleshoots problems related to the production process, recommends alternatives to meet planned production schedules and ensures product quality standards are maintained.
Modifies existing systems, redesigns software and system circuitry as necessary to meet project objectives.
Recommends improvements to encourage safe and reliable equipment operation on newly installed equipment.
Reviews and analyzes daily check sheets for accuracy and to determine operating problems and required corrective action.
Monitors and ensures changeovers are completed as scheduled and in a proper manner.
Checks and ensures preventive maintenance procedures are performed as scheduled and are accurately documented.
Maintains good housekeeping conditions and safe operating practices in the department.
Ensures weekly setup sheets are completed for all lines and previews for deviations from standards and follows up as necessary.
Investigates and resolves product quality problems as required.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment breakdowns and replaces and rebuilds machine components as needed.
Sets up molding machines and trimmer, aligns and installs molds, sets and adjusts time cycles, air pressures and water temperatures, positions labeler, changes over and adjusts reamer, trim stations, material inspection system, and adjusts sequence timing for all operations.
Coordinates the implementation of production schedules in the most efficient and productive manner.
Recommends and implements improvements to machine line operations to increase productivity and improve product quality.
Performs processing for new molds/tooling establishing run perimeters for best efficiency.
