About The Position

As a Process Engineer, you will work with a team of engineers and cross-functional partners to optimize refinery process units. Your goal will be to enhance operational performance by identifying opportunities, improving efficiency, and driving optimization initiatives across the refinery. Your success will be defined by your ability to lead initiatives from conception to completion, track and analyze performance, and deliver actionable solutions that improve overall process efficiency and reliability. Requirements

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis and process optimization
  • Proven collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with engineering software and technical tools used in process and project engineering
  • Strong communication skills for reporting, stakeholder alignment, and technical updates
  • University degree in Chemical Engineering and P. Eng. (Professional Engineer) certification required
  • 7+ years of process engineering experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably in downstream/refining operations
  • 5+ years of hands-on field experience troubleshooting in an operational plant environment

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize refinery process units working closely with the operations and planning teams
  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support within the operational plant environment
  • Provide support for unit outages and startups either in the field or in the office
  • Maintain accuracy and drive continuous improvement of all unit process data and associated simulation models
  • Lead improvement initiatives while balancing safety, process requirements, budget, operational effectiveness, and risk mitigation
  • Support future capital projects both by identifying conceptual plans and by collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive them to completion
  • Develop and implement plans to solve complex problems and complete detailed engineering designs
  • Manage complex areas, tasks, and project functions to ensure successful execution
  • Conduct routine procedure reviews and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Design and monitor best practices to enhance refinery performance and operational efficiency
