About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for process capability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement project implementation within a specific process. This role involves providing specialized engineering work with an expected broad overlap between engineering disciplines. Key functions include supporting capacity planning and growth, defining budgeted rates, and maintaining process documentation. The engineer ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, best practices, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations. BD is a global medical technology company focused on advancing health, and this role contributes to finding transformative solutions in MedTech product manufacturing and design. Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree -- Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • General Engineering expertise related to automated fabrication, assembly, and packaging equipment for high volume production.
  • Use of AutoCAD
  • Use of Microsoft Office
  • Must become knowledgeable of materials, processing, safety, ergonomics, and cost estimating.
  • Six Sigma capability to minimum of a Green Belt level
  • Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Technical writing
  • Proficient in Presentation skills
  • Proficient in Project management skills
  • Proficient in Risk management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt level preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Mechanical Technicians to support daily production/waste goals by keeping equipment running correctly and maintained and by administrating equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM).
  • Conceive, and implement process improvements to support the business.
  • Obtain Change Initiation Request (CIR) approval to implement changes.
  • Perform validations for new products, machines and machine changes.
  • Provide support to address quality issues.
  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
