About The Position

The Process Engineer serves as a change agent in our Butler manufacturing facility, driving operational excellence and fostering a "safety-first" culture. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical design and shop-floor execution by leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing capital projects, and optimizing production processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred).
  • Prior experience in steel stamping, steel processing, or heavy manufacturing (Preferred).
  • Lean Manufacturing experience along with a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with GD&T, APQP, Minitab, and Product Design/Launch methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety: Drive daily safety improvements and act as a leading advocate for a safety-focused culture.
  • Participate actively in manufacturing incident investigations and subsequent resolutions.
  • Review, evaluate, and address ergonomic and safety risks for all plant activities and engineering projects.
  • Immediately address and escalate potential safety issues with appropriate personnel.
  • Serve as the technical process owner for core manufacturing operations, including polyurethane (PUR) processing, foam operations, roll forming, steel stamping, machining, and assembly.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standardized work instructions and process documentation.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve process, quality, and equipment issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, monitor performance, and recommend process enhancements.
  • Lead process validations, manufacturing trials, and support new product launches to ensure operational readiness.
  • Facilitate Lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, and waste elimination.
  • Manage capital improvement projects from initial concept through implementation, including equipment selection, justification, installation, and validation.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to bridge gaps between current practices and standardized work.
  • Assist in the development, training, and facilitation of new processes and best practices for production associates.
