About The Position

ATEK Metal Technologies is seeking a Process Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in New Hampton, IA. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on developing, validating, and continuously improving foundry processes for metal casting. The ideal candidate will own and drive process improvements, solve problems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency in metal product manufacturing.

Requirements

• 3+ years of foundry experience directly related to low pressure aluminum casting and process engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in molding process problem solving in a foundry environment.
• Experience reducing foundry process scrap.
• Track record delivering continuous improvement projects.
• Off-shift availability and flexibility to support 2nd or 3rd shift operations and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Six Sigma methodology.
• Foundry automation experience.
• Experience in tooling, core make, and post-molding processes (heat treatment, de-core, finishing).

Responsibilities

• Design and validate operating processes for new and existing products, meeting customer requirements, cycle time targets, and quality standards.
• Lead and deliver continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap, improve efficiency, and strengthen process control.
• Own process-based problem solving in support of daily operations, including identifying root causes, implementing fixes, and preventing recurrence.
• Develop clear operating instructions to maintain process control, repeatability, and audit readiness.
• Partner with design engineering to resolve equipment and tooling issues.
• Train and coach process operators on proper procedures.
• Take full ownership of assigned processes, driving execution and improvement with a sense of urgency.
