About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our dynamic chemical manufacturing team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining chemical production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting safe chemical operations across the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Chemistry, Process or Industrial Engineering).
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a process engineering role within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with P&ID development and review.
  • Knowledge of PHA, FMEA and other risk assessment methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in a chemical facility.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., Oracle) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve chemical manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Collect and analyze process data using statistical tools to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process-related issues, minimize downtime, and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Create and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and facility diagrams.
  • Work closely with R&D, quality, EHS, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support new product introductions, scale-up activities, and process changes.
  • Ensure all chemical processes comply with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations. Champion a culture of safety throughout the facility. Actively participate in and promote the facility's Process Safety Management (PSM) program. Conduct and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for all process modifications.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Six Sigma initiatives, Kaizen events, and waste reduction projects to drive operational excellence.
  • Investigate and resolve process deviations, chemical non-conformances, yield losses, and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
