The Role: The process engineer is to able to work with hourly union environment with occasional guidance from supervision and peers. Skilled in equipment alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel and machines as necessary to produce high quality parts. Work is performed in a manufacturing plant activity where teamwork is key. What You’ll Do: Provide daily support to production operations with a strong focus on personnel and equipment safety, process quality, and uptime, particularly within press operations, fastening, and/or testing systems Attend regular production meetings and represent engineering on safety, quality, throughput, and scrap reduction topics Own specific manufacturing and/or quality issues, driving root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure Support the production team by collecting, analyzing, and sharing data to help resolve issues beyond those formally assigned to engineering Provide technical direction and information to skilled trades personnel, ensuring proper execution of repairs, adjustments, and improvements Support manufacturing activities by troubleshooting and diagnosing process and equipment problems to eliminate scrap, rework, and unplanned downtime Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, including Job Instructions, FMEA databases, machine and tooling drawings, and other standard work Identify, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement projects that support departmental business objectives and improve safety, quality, cost, and reliability Lead or support process development and launch activities for new or modified equipment, including installation, debug, runoff, validation, and handoff to operations to ensure robust, high-quality engine production
