About The Position

First Quality Tissue, located in Lock Haven, PA, is seeking a Process Engineer for their Converting department. This role is responsible for managing projects and daily tasks focused on improving safety, supporting operations, reducing downtime and waste, training operators, setting up for new products, and conducting raw material trials. The primary goal is to enhance department efficiencies and decrease operating costs while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and workloads utilizing time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team.
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic rolled products converting equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Analytical thought process.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Improving efficiencies of all equipment in the converting process.
  • Collaborating with the Quality department to ensure finished product quality standards are met.
  • Developing and implementing plans to reduce downtime and waste, and improve converting line efficiencies.
  • Promoting the growth of converting operations personnel to enhance process understanding.
  • Analyzing data to identify trends and troubleshoot process problems.
  • Working with manufacturing to establish raw material standards for parent rolls.
  • Developing and leading teams for continuous improvement projects.
  • Interacting with representatives from Purchasing, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, Safety, Project Engineering, and Production.
  • Proposing, installing, and commissioning new equipment.
  • Completing setup information and leading the launch of new products.
  • Observing all safety rules and using proper PPE at all times.
  • Performing other duties as necessary and when directed.
