About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer drives safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing operations by leading and supporting process improvement initiatives that enhance cost, quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as a technical leader for manufacturing process optimization, applying Lean, Six Sigma, statistical methods, and root cause analysis to identify and resolve process issues. The incumbent collaborates cross‑functionally to support new product introduction, investigate quality claims, strengthen process control, and ensure compliance with quality and safety systems. Through hands‑on plant engagement, operator coaching, and data‑driven decision making, the role delivers measurable and sustainable improvements in plant performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial, materials, or related discipline) required.
  • Experience supporting production processes, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, or participating in continuous improvement initiatives required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to process improvement, cost reduction, or operational excellence projects.
  • Working to advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control fundamentals, and material behavior.
  • Working proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and basic statistical methods.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, process documentation, and quality standards.
  • Experience participating in and leading defined portions of RCFA investigations related to process or material issues.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, customer requirements, and process controls.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and revise raw material specifications and process standards.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.

  • Works collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and demonstrates learning agility and openness to feedback.
  • Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
  • 2–7 years of progressive engineering or manufacturing experience, depending on level and scope of responsibility
  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports and leads small to medium‑scope projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, safety, and new product development.
  • Conducts plant observations and process analyses to identify issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Troubleshoots process control, material usage, and equipment performance issues to support manufacturing operations.
  • Participates in and leads portions of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations related to process control and material usage.
  • Applies Lean, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, and basic statistical tools to improve plant performance, with increasing independence.
  • Monitors, audits, and supports process control initiatives to ensure sustained performance improvements.
  • Coaches operators and supervisors on process control methodologies, equipment capabilities, and standard practices.
  • Advocates for quality systems and customer requirements and partners with corporate functions to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Participates in plant safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation.
  • Creates, maintains, and revises raw material specifications to meet business and quality requirements.
  • Provides technical support to manufacturing operations and supports cross‑functional and integrated project teams.
