About The Position

The Process Engineer will support the Plant Manager in achieving production targets. This role involves managing production operations, ensuring quality control, leading a team, maintaining health, safety, and environmental compliance, and controlling costs within the Converting Department.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or 4 years plastics converting experience.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication, enabling effective interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating converting operations to meet production targets.
  • Monitor machine performance, output levels, and downtime to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery deadlines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and industry regulations.
  • Monitor scrap rates and implement waste reduction strategies.
  • Supervise shift supervisors, machine operators, and production staff.
  • Provide training and development to improve team skills and performance.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and performance-driven work environment.
  • Assist in workforce planning, shift allocation, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the department.
  • Ensure proper handling of raw materials, chemicals, and finished goods.
  • Monitor and manage packaging supplies specific only to Converting Department and coordinate with the Front office for inventory control.
  • Assist in controlling operational costs, including labor, energy, and material waste.
