About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing process improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve quality, and increase efficiency across manufacturing operations. This role will lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, evaluate current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions that strengthen overall plant performance. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing experience, technical problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement projects from analysis through implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • Significant experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  • Experience with Kaizen facilitation, 5S, Standard Work, SMED, and TPM.
  • Experience with Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI), visual management systems, and productivity/OEE improvement projects.
  • Experience leading projects involving equipment outages, equipment installations, and implementation of new processes.
  • Ability to facilitate root cause analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • AutoCAD experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive or similar manufacturing quality systems experience, including APQP, PFMEA, Corrective and Preventive Actions, and Control Plans, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing processes, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost.
  • Develop and execute process improvement plans that deliver measurable and sustainable results.
  • Monitor process performance metrics and identify opportunities for continued improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to successfully implement new or improved processes.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for new and modified processes.
  • Lead and facilitate Lean Manufacturing activities, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, SMED, and TPM.
  • Support Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) and visual daily management processes, including Tier 1–4 boards.
  • Lead complex productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement projects.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why and implement effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead projects involving major equipment outages, new equipment installations, and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to successfully execute assigned projects.
  • Support quality systems and methodologies including APQP, PFMEA, Corrective and Preventive Actions, and Control Plans, as applicable.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with established safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
