Process Engineer

ICT Industrial

About The Position

ICT Industrial is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development of ACHE design capability and future product offering. This role will focus on the thermal design, rating, sizing, and technical development of air-cooled heat exchangers, while also supporting product standardization, fabrication readiness, bid evaluations, and field performance. The successful candidate will work across projects from concept development through detailed design, fabrication support, commissioning, and troubleshooting, and will help establish ICT’s design practices, calculation methods, and technical standards for ACHE systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in ACHE thermal/process design; experience with fin-fan equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, thermal design cases, and ACHE operability considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTRI Xchanger Suite for ACHE rating and sizing.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, data sheet, specifications, and performance reports.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant engineering or data analysis software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, fabrication, and operations teams.
  • Willing to travel 10%+

Responsibilities

  • Use ACHE design software, such as HTRI Xchanger Suite, to rate and size air-cooled heat exchangers (fin-fan coolers).
  • Perform sensitivity analyses of ambient temperature, fouling, airflow, seasonal operating conditions, design versus normal cases, turndown, and overdesign margins.
  • Develop and validate thermal design reports, including checks, first-principles verification, and clearly documented assumptions.
  • Select and evaluate tube diameters, lengths, and materials; fin types and densities; bundle configurations; tube row arrangements; pass arrangements; and flow distribution.
  • Assess and compare induced-draft and forced-draft ACHE configurations.
  • Develop ACHE datasheets, design philosophies, thermal design criteria, and technical requisitions.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor clarifications, and recommendation report preparation.
  • Resolve vendor, field, and client technical clarifications and deviations.
  • Interface with structural, mechanical, piping, estimating, fabrication, installation, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure an integrated, practical design.
  • Support the development of internal ACHE standards, design tools, and calculation templates to enable repeatable, scalable product delivery.
  • Ensure that designs meet applicable safety, environmental, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with startup, performance testing, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and revamp studies.
  • Support the continuous improvement of ICT’s ACHE offering through lessons learned, design standardization, and quality improvement initiatives.
