About The Position

Woodbridge Holdings, Inc. has an opening at its subsidiary, Olympic Products, LLC, in Greensboro, NC, for a Process Engineer position. This role involves following general safety regulations and using provided safety equipment, understanding ISO 9001 requirements and the Olympic Quality Policy, and adhering to established work instructions and procedures. The Process Engineer will modify existing reporting systems for new methods, material specifications, and products, and recommend improvements for personnel, material, and utility utilization. Responsibilities include creating new machinery and process systems, implementing process improvements, planning and establishing operational sequences for fabrication and assembly, coordinating and implementing quality control objectives, writing and updating standard operating procedures, training personnel, and developing/modifying foam formulations to meet customer and organizational expectations. The role also requires maintaining a neat, organized, and clean work area following 5S principles, cross-training in other positions as needed, and reviewing KPI metrics such as yield and scrap reports.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent foreign degree
  • Two years of experience in manufacturing
  • At least one year of experience in the polymer industry
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, process controls and fluid flow phenomena
  • Ability to manipulate production numbers to calculate yields, usages, and various other process indicators
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • One to two years’ experience in an engineering role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills, such as AutoCAD, Windows, spreadsheets, databases and word processing software

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SPC and automotive quality standards
  • Knowledge of statistical experiments
  • Knowledge of ladder logic, metering pumps, drives, sensors and transducers, control theory, hydraulics, pneumatic are assets
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop formulations and pour patterns to meet production specifications
  • Responsible for the daily process operations
  • Liaison with maintenance to solve process equipment problems
  • Liaison with production to address production concerns
  • Plan and execute process improvement experiments
  • Optimize raw material usage and minimize waste
  • Participate in health & safety and quality audit process
  • Write and update SOPS, SOTS, procedures, etc.
