About The Position

The Corbion facility based in Blair, Nebraska is expanding our engineering team to include two Process Engineers reporting to the Engineering & Technology Manager. Level of each position will be based on candidate experience and qualifications. These engineers are responsible for engineering efforts in both the lactic acid and lactates plants, continuous improvement campaigns, and helping to manage process safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (or comparable engineering degree).
  • 3 - 10 years of experience in a comparable role, lactic acid preferred.
  • Understanding of common industrial manufacturing equipment and their applications.
  • Proven experience applying engineering practices toward feasible solutions.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment or work independently.
  • Excellent verbal/written, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, as well as utilization of AI tools (i.e. Copilot).  SAP is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of process safety strategies including process hazard analyses (PHAs), mechanical integrity (MI) and management of change (MOC).

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of food safety standards and good manufacturing practices (GMP) preferred.
  • Experience managing small capital projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with common continuous improvement methods and strategies. Experience working in that environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert for the lactic acid and derivatives processes.
  • Leverage engineering background to provide solutions to unique manufacturing problems or improvement opportunities.
  • Identify areas for process improvement as it relates to production, revenue, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Assist the reliability engineer as necessary to align on key equipment maintenance activities and standard operating conditions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Aid in root cause analyses as necessary.
  • Lead process safety measures to ensure adherence to global policies.
  • Support front end loading efforts for new project development.
  • Executes QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality.
  • Assist in new product development.
