About The Position

Process Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across manufacturing operations by identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to eliminate waste, optimize workflows, standardize processes, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, continuous improvement, or operational excellence.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze operational data.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective communication and employee engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing reporting systems.
  • Ability to influence and drive change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
  • Experience leading Kaizen or operational excellence initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and customer service.
  • Facilitate Lean Manufacturing activities including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, 5S, visual management, and waste elimination projects.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and develop sustainable solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process changes that improve throughput, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency.
  • Establish standardized work procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and validate process improvements to ensure sustained results.
  • Collect and analyze production, quality, and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Use root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop performance metrics and dashboards to track operational effectiveness.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions based on findings.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Support new product launches, process changes, and equipment implementation projects.
  • Provide training and coaching on continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Participate in plant meetings and operational reviews to drive performance improvements.
  • Lead and manage process improvement projects from identification through implementation.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and measurable success criteria.
  • Track project savings and operational benefits.
  • Present recommendations and project results to plant leadership.
  • Support initiatives that improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Assist with corrective action investigations and process validation activities.
  • Ensure improved processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment through process and ergonomic improvements.
  • Support and lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, facility improvements, etc. ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve expected operational performance and return on investment.
  • Analyzes technical malfunctions, makes suggestions for improvement, tests and implements the necessary improvements, including hands on troubleshooting.
  • Optimizes the operation of manufacturing processes by finding the optimum processing, packaging, and machine settings.
  • Participates in the Root Cause Analysis of quality problems to determine cause and solutions, coordinates with the maintenance and production departments to implement solutions.
