Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role T1 Energy is looking to hire a night shift Process Engineer who is responsible for supporting and optimizing the stable operation, technical performance, and continuous improvement of solar module manufacturing processes at T1 Energy in Wilmer, Texas. This role provides hands-on technical expertise for process development, troubleshooting, yield improvement, process control, and standardization under the direction of the Process Manager. This position serves as a key technical contributor within the manufacturing organization, bridging engineering principles with real-time production needs. The Process Engineer is expected to work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, drive data-driven improvements, and ensure processes are robust, repeatable, and scalable in alignment with T1’s forward-looking manufacturing vision.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of PV module manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of: SOP / WI development
  • SPC, data analysis, and process control
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma fundamentals: 5S, waste elimination, root cause analysis, process variation reduction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); data analysis tools a plus
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Hands-on mindset with the ability to support production floor activities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Automation, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Solar module manufacturing (preferred), or Semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience in a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar technical role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily technical support to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues across module manufacturing lines.
  • Support Production in achieving output, yield, and quality targets through timely issue resolution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance yield, quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve process capability.
  • Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Pareto, Fishbone, and DMAIC.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs, work instructions, and process standards.
  • Monitor SPC data and process trends to identify variation and drive corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain process control plans to ensure long-term stability and repeatability.
  • Drive defect reduction, yield improvement, and process parameter optimization.
  • Collaborate with Equipment, Quality, and Production teams to improve uptime, reliability, and product performance.
  • Lead and support process validation activities for new materials, products, and equipment changes.
  • Analyze production and process data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Own key process metrics and drive accountability for performance improvements.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Partner with Production, Equipment, Quality, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Support new line ramp-ups, engineering changes, and technology transfers.
  • Participate in audits, trials, and improvement initiatives as required.
