About The Position

This role involves executing experiments, preparing and operating 3D printers, troubleshooting print issues, and performing post-build analysis. The Process Engineer will analyze qualification builds, record data, and prepare summary presentations and reports. Collaboration with applications, hardware, and software teams is key to troubleshooting and validating new features. The role also includes managing part production bottlenecks, operating printers according to procedures, and updating standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Ability to work independently.
Experience with metrology measurements (visual inspection, surface roughness, X-ray inspection, metallographic analysis).
Proficiency in analyzing data and preparing summary presentations and reports.
Familiarity with 3D printer operation.
Ability to follow procedures.
Experience in preparing/updating SOPs, checklists, and analysis guides.

Responsibilities

Execute experiments independently, prepare printers, schedule files for printing, troubleshoot issues during printing, and analyze qualification builds post-print.
Make detailed observations during experiments, note anomalies on the tool, and troubleshoot arising issues.
Perform post-build analysis including metrology measurements (visual inspection, surface roughness, X-ray inspection, metallographic analysis).
Analyze in-build metrology data to understand qualification builds and identify action items.
Record all data in a summary presentation for each qualification experiment and prepare a report summarizing results.
Collaborate with the applications team to analyze first article and production builds, troubleshoot novel problems, and propose, test, and document solutions.
Work with lab technicians to identify and resolve bottlenecks in all stages of part production.
Engage with hardware and software teams to validate and provide feedback on new features.
Operate 3D printers and disposition qualification builds according to procedures.
Prepare/update SOPs, checklists, and analysis guides.
Participate in team and other assigned meetings.
Perform other duties as needed or required.
