Integral part of team that monitors and controls processes to continually improve the first-pass scrap rate, product yield, and customer satisfaction. Provides technical guidance to the Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance departments. Works closely with the R&D Team in the commercialization of new products.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree with course work in polymer / material sciences or engineering.
  • Technical knowledge of polymers and process relationships.
  • Ability to work with teams of multidiscipline backgrounds; willing to travel domestically and internationally as necessary.
  • Self ‑ motivated with strong initiative and problem ‑ solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with R&D team to integrate new products and processes into the commercial product stream.
  • Monitor processes to verify conformance to world class manufacturing and quality practices.
  • Identify and recommend countermeasures for continual improvement of production processes, equipment performance, quality of product, safety, and environment.
  • Understand how countermeasures impact product quality.
  • Provide technical training to production operators and assist with effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify and correct causes of product/process variation or poor performance.
  • Plan, conduct, and document product modification activities and trials to improve performance or customer satisfaction.
  • Manage individual and team projects, as required, identifying and utilizing the available resources to achieve the goal. Includes developing work plans, leading all activities, evaluating results, and reporting to the appropriate management team.
  • Aid in the evaluation of customer complaints for root causes and direct activities to prevent future occurrences.
  • Work with raw material suppliers to reduce variation, define specifications, evaluate new or second source materials, and other changes to improve quality and product yields.
