We are seeking a full-time Process Engineer at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing expert CAD software skills to model complex tools and develop complex process instructions under the supervision of management or a mentor. This role may also lead small projects or sub projects for a new unit in development or a group of mature units. Board Assembly Team: The Board Assembly Team (BAT) is responsible for the production of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for Garmin's products. The PCBs are assembled using highly automated equipment due to the complexity of certain designs and the amount of volume that is required daily. Mechanical Assembly Team: The Mechanical Assembly Team (MAT) is responsible for the unit level assembly and packaging of all Garmin products. Most of the units are assembled in a work cell environment by manual methods of assembly. The Process Engineer's main responsibility is to design work areas that produce the highest quality product, in the shortest amount of time, using the most economical method, while delivering a product that exceeds the customer's expectations. Electrical Engineering Team: The Electrical Engineering Team (EET) is responsible for the calibration and performance verification processes for Garmin products produced in the Olathe, KS facility. The units are typically calibrated and tested using automated equipment due to the quantity and complexity of the test steps. The Process Engineer's responsibility is to assemble and maintain the test equipment and procedures, while monitoring test metrics to identify opportunities to improve throughput.
