Requirements
- 3–5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience (casting, ceramics, composites, or similar preferred)
- Strong understanding of process control and variation reduction
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA, 8D, CAPA)
- Experience with Process documentation and standardization
- Experience with Scrap reduction and yield improvement
- Ability to work on the production floor daily in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related) preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing processes to identify sources of variation and instability
- Establish and maintain process parameters, standards, and controls
- Drive consistency in critical processes (mixing, forming, curing, firing, etc.)
- Implement corrective actions to address process deviations and non-conformances
- Provide real-time troubleshooting on the production floor
- Partner with operators and supervisors to resolve process-related issues quickly
- Support production in meeting daily output and efficiency targets
- Act as the primary technical resource for process-related challenges
- Analyze scrap trends and identify root causes of defects (e.g., shrinkage, cracking, dimensional issues)
- Lead structured problem-solving (8D, root cause analysis) to eliminate repeat issues
- Develop and implement actions to improve yield and reduce rework
- Develop, update, and enforce standard work instructions and process documentation
- Ensure process changes are validated, documented, and sustained
- Support training of operators on updated processes and standards
- Track key process metrics (yield, scrap, cycle time, throughput)
- Utilize data to identify trends and drive decision-making
- Establish visual controls and reporting for process performance
- Work with Quality to ensure product meets specifications and customer requirements
- Partner with Maintenance to address equipment-related process issues
- Support Engineering initiatives related to process improvements and new methods
