About The Position

Elektro Assemblies is a rapidly growing contract manufacturer seeking a self-directed, ambitious Process Engineer to support their new customer onboarding team. This role involves collaborating with sales, production, customer service, and business unit managers to onboard new business and customers efficiently. The Process Engineer will assist the implementation team in building estimates, quotes, and proposals, and will be instrumental in growing sales and the business. Key aspects of the role include collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive sales growth, developing cost estimates, ensuring accurate product costs and margins, and driving continuous improvement in processes, lead times, and customer communications.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree (engineering/technical) is a must
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in a technical role with similar requirements
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven history of successful project management
  • Proven record of leading teams and people
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting prints and technical specifications
  • Computer literate: MS Office products and ERP systems
  • Strong business acumen – must be able to develop and support a business case and recommendations to grow profitable sales

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quoting, system maintenance: New part number set-up, BOMs, Routings, and standard work instructions to support sales, operations, and customers is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate and quote new opportunities to help grow sales
  • Support production in onboarding new business, including process and standard work development
  • Ensure accurate product costs and margins on quoted and supplied products
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, lead times, and customer communications
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely communications with customers and internal team members
  • Work directly with sales managers and customers to determine customer needs
  • Collaborate with production, suppliers, and purchasing to develop cost estimates/quotes
  • Work with detailed product specifications (electrical wiring, connectors, enclosures, assemblies) to meet or exceed customer needs on requests for quotes
  • Interact directly with customers on product updates, changes, and revisions to verify accuracy
  • Perform financial analysis to determine cost and margins, and make recommendations to leadership
  • Support production with specifications and processes to ensure parts meet customer needs
  • Ensure changes are documented, filed, and communicated to all stakeholders
  • Assist in standardizing product specifications to increase production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate changes to all stakeholders
  • Develop and manage product records, including BOMs, Routings, Quotes, and Prints
  • Collaborate with sales, production, and purchasing to get product made to specification on-time
