About The Position

Plans and coordinates the manufacturing process of an industrial establishment and develops work measurement procedures and performs time-and-motion studies to promote efficient and economical utilization of personnel and facilities. This role involves studying engineering prints, drawings, models, and other specifications to obtain data on proposed parts. The Process Engineer Technician will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods by applying knowledge of functions and processes of various departments and capacities of machines and equipment to determine tool requirements and establish the sequence of operations to manufacture parts. This includes listing the routing of operations, indicating machines, cutting tools, fixtures, and other equipment to be used, and estimating times needed for each operation. The role also involves developing or revising standard operational and working practices, observing workers to ensure compliance with standards, and conferring with establishment personnel to implement operation procedures and resolve system malfunctions. Additionally, the position requires conferring with workers in other departments to provide technical information, participating in meetings, seminars, and training sessions, and directing or conducting observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine time-and-motion requirements of job duties. The Process Engineer Technician will analyze work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards, apply mathematical analysis to determine the validity and reliability of sampling and work study statistics, and apply principles of industrial engineering and applied psychology to evaluate work methods proposals and develop recommendations to management affecting work methods, wage rates, and budget decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; in a relevant engineering discipline, preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
