About The Position

Process Engineer (Projects) Position Summary Work Schedule: Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch This position is 100% on-site at the St. Petersburg site. Join Catalent’s flagship softgel development and manufacturing facility in St. Petersburg, FL, producing 18 billion capsules annually. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges. The Process engineer is responsible for managing site reliability assets in the operations, technical services, and process development departments. This includes projects impacting technical services for new or enhanced products, engineering, cost containment, and efficiency, and compliance initiatives. Additionally, the process engineer is responsible for communicating cross-functionally, and with customers, vendors, suppliers, contractors, other sites and upper management on project related activities. The Role: Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures such as capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues. Familiarity with use of tools such as Statistical process control, Reliability modelling and prediction, Six Sigma (6o) methodology and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Provides advanced engineering support to ongoing activities and projects acting as a specialist advisor across the Reliability Engineering function and applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign Accountable for JHA - Job hazards analysis, FMEA - Failure modes and effects analysis, CA - Criticality analysis, RCA – Root Cause Analysis and expands knowledge of engineering concepts that support the Engineering and Maintenance departments and capital projects Development and maintenance of Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM)and participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for evaluation of equipment, technical MRO suppliers, technical maintenance service providers and final check-out of new installations including factory and site acceptance testing. Leads cross-discipline projects focused on Reliability Engineering and developing plans to eliminate or reduce the losses through root cause analysis, facilitates the implementation and may be required to work off hours as it relates to projects or plant emergencies Communicates with customer on equipment status and with supplier, vendor or contractor on equipment requirements and expectations. Ensures project requirements embraces current cGMP, EHS, and CFR/ISO industry standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience is required, master’s degree preferred (including MBA)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to a range of moderately complex problems
  • Knowledge and experience of using and designing business systems to document and solve problems
  • CMMS Knowledge
  • Previous experience with predictive maintenance technologies and asset performance platforms
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, no lifting greater than 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Be accessible to manufacturing floor and office staff and to use required office equipment.
  • Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
